Please join me in welcoming Lynn Rush, a dear friend and wonderful author. I'm so happy to have the chance to interview her today about her new release, Awaited. CONTEST: See details below for a chance to win a copy.
What has caused Russell
Leonard, a centuries-old Guardian, to lose faith in his purpose? What was his
intended original purpose?
Russell has been by Beka’s side for nearly four centuries, helping her
find her mate as they both protected the humans. Now that she’s found her mate,
he’s feeling… unsettled. Might have something to do with the nameless beauty
he’s been dreaming of the past few months…
Russell dreams have been
haunted for months by a red-headed beauty. What did the dreams indicate other
than her image…danger, passion, happiness, purpose, etc.?
Mostly just a sense of contentment. He’d never heard her voice, only saw
her beautiful eyes, smile, skin, hair. The Guardian’s main focus has always
been protecting humans. Nothing else. But since Beka’s prophecy to find a mate,
the Guardian world has shifted. And now Russell’s dreaming of a woman he’s yet
to meet, so maybe he’s also meant to find a mate. . .
Who charged Russell with
procuring the first female Guardian in over two centuries? Why was he chosen
for this remarkable appointment? What are the consequences of procurement? Will
the pair be bonded? If so, how—mentor/student, master/slave, etc.?
Directives come from the archangel Michael. Usually through the Merus,
Jessica. So that’s how the initial assignment got handed down. As to why…only
the archangel Michel knows that (and you will too once you read the book) J
The female he finds is
Annabelle, who is mute and bears no Guardian’s Mark. Russell learns she’s been
tainted by an ancient evil. How does he discover this? Who placed the evil upon
her and why?
These are all questions Russell must discover answers to, considering
he was charged with getting the next Guardian. As his journey is traveled, he’s
thrown into the dark world of demonic tainting. Sees things he couldn’t have
ever imagined…and that’s saying a lot since he’s nearly 400 years old.
Russell finds purpose in
helping release Annabelle from this evil curse. Why? What drives him to save
her? Does Annabelle wish to be saved? Does she readily accept Russell’s
attempts?
Despite Russell’s feeling of doubt about his purpose, he has faith in
the idea that everything happens for a reason. He was going to get the next
Guardian and “stumbled” into Annabelle. He believes there is a reason,
especially since he’s been dreaming of her for months. And after he witnessed
everything that transpired between David and Beka (Wasteland #1) he knows he
must follow through with what his heart is telling him. For the most part
Annabelle does accept Russell’s help—with a few obstacles of course.
Annabelle may be able to
silence a millennia-old demon with the magic of her voice. What danger might
the demon bring to this world if she cannot succeed?
Dark versus Light. Good versus Evil. Balance. There must be balance. If
evil is allowed to thrive, things get out of balance, which leads to chaos. And
there are particularly powerful demons that would love to see that happen. What
better way to tip the scales in evil’s favor than to taint those destined for
Light?
Briefly describe the magical
systems of your world. How do those who are empowered gain their abilities?
My Guardians gain their powers and abilities from the Light—the
ultimate good. The archangel, Michael, leads the Guardians on their journey in
protecting the humans. Protecting their choice between good and evil. The
demons gain their power from evil, darkness, Lucifer. Their goal is to create
chaos, get souls indebted to them to gain favor. Gain power.

Russell Leonard is a centuries-old Guardian who’s lost faith in
his purpose. So when he’s charged with procuring the first female Guardian in
over two centuries, he can only hope it’s the red-headed beauty who’s been
haunting his dreams for months. And if it is, he intends to claim her as his.
But when he finds his dream woman, Annabelle is mute and bears no Guardian’s
Mark.
He soon realizes she’s

Congrats on your new release, Lynn!! This sounds like a wonderful read!! Thank you, Marsha for hosting Lynn.
And thank you, Lynn for the opportunity to read one of your stories!
Lynn, I was wondering about your series. Can each book be read as a standalone or do they need to be read as the series starting from book #1? I will start with the first one because I am a stickler for the background, but I am just curious. :)
