From
Seeking A Scribe:
Enchanted Bookstore Legend One

epic fantasy romance
***On SALE for 99 cents through June 8th***

In this sample, Lyra McCauley and her small group of guides reach the division between good and evil lands.

“Lyra, come to me!” Cullen shouted, holding his hand to her just inside the boundary marked by the Geminus tree, and the Imperial Dragon let out a piercing screech.
Something whoshed above her. “You’re my prize now, Scribe,” a huge green dragon snarled while his talons latched onto her waist.
She screamed and writhed.
Before it could even lift off, the Imperial Dragon came at full speed, tackling the beast half his size.
Tossed free, she landed eighty feet farther within the dark land.
The dragons wrestled between her and the Geminus tree. Fire and magma drakes circled her like vultures. In one swift bite, the Head Guardian bit cleanly through the neck of his opponent, and the huge green head landed with a thud in front of Lyra, its spinal hornlets lodging in the soil. A stench of chlorine gas oozed from its blood.

Information about the Enchanted Bookstore Legends:

The Enchanted Bookstore Legends are about Lyra McCauley, a woman destined to become one of five strong women in her family who possess unique magical abilities and serve as Scribes in Dragonspeir. The Scribes span a long history, dating from 1200 to present day. Each Scribe is expected to journey through Dragonspeir, both the good and evil factions, then draft a written account. Each book contains magic with vast implications.

Lyra was first introduced to Dragonspeir as a young girl, when she met the high sorcerer, Cullen Drake, through a gift of one of those enchanted books. Using its magic, he escorted her into the parallel world of Dragonspeir. Years later, she lost that volume and forgot the world and Cullen. These legends begin where he finds her again—she is thirty-five, standing in his enchanted bookstore, and Dragonspeir needs her.

When Lyra reopens that enchanted book, she confronts a series of quests where she is expected to save the good Alliance from destruction by the evil Black Dragon. While learning about her role, Lyra and Cullen fall in love. He is 220 years old and kept alive by Dragonspeir magic. Cullen will die if Dragonspeir is taken over by the evil faction…Lyra becomes the Scribe.

Seeking a Scribe: Enchanted Bookstore Legend One
Lyra McCauley is a writer and loves fantasy novels, but until she opens a selection from bookstore owner Cullen Drake, she has no idea he’s a wizard character who lives a double life inside that volume…or the story’s magic will compel her from the edge of depression to adventure, danger, and love.

His gift to Lyra, the Book of Dragonspeir, was actually her copy, misplaced years ago. Lost in her pain following divorce and death, she fails to recognize him as her childhood playmate from the fantasyland. Friendship builds anew. Attraction sparks. But Lyra doubts whether a wizard is capable of love. She’s torn—should she protect her fragile heart or risk new love?

Opening the book’s cover, she confronts a quest: save Dragonspeir from destruction by the Black Dragon before he utilizes power of August’s red moon to expand his strength and overthrow the opposing Imperial Dragon. Lyra accepts the challenge, fearing Cullen will perish if evil wins. Along with magical animal guides, Cullen helps her through many perils, but ultimately Lyra must use her own power…and time is running out.

From
Witch's Cursed Cabin:
A Coon Hollow Coven Tale
I rubbed the end of my staff. After a steadying breath, I repeated the question they’d all avoided. “But if I fail to break the curse?”
He looked down, and Cerise studied her mug, but Shireen’s gray eyes met mine as she said, “I’ll say it straight as I see it: you won’t be a witch no more.”
Silence hung in the air.
I couldn’t imagine living without my witchcraft. Sweat trickled down the nape of my neck. I yanked up a question that’d been stuck in my throat, the words burning my tongue as I spoke them. “Could the banshee take my life?”
Shireen gave a single nod.

Genre: Paranormal romance
Description:
Eager to be on her own away from home, twenty-year-old Aggie Anders accepts a relative’s invitation to live in Coon Hollow Coven. Although she’s a witch from a different coven, what locals say about the Hollow confuses her. How can witchcraft there live and breathe through souls of the dead?
Aggie’s new residence in this strange southern Indiana world is a deserted homestead cabin. The property’s carriage house serves as the coven’s haunted Halloween fundraiser. It’s a great opportunity for her to make new friends, especially with the coven’s sexy new High Priest Logan.
But living in the homestead also brings Aggie enemies. Outsiders aren’t welcome. A cantankerous, old neighbor tries to frighten her off by warning her that the homestead is cursed. Local witches who practice black magic attempt to use their evil to drive Aggie away and rid their coven of her unusual powers as a sun witch.
Determined to stay and fit in, Aggie discovers not only that the cabin is cursed, but she alone is destined to break the curse before moonrise on Samhain. If she fails, neither the living nor the dead will be safe.

Series description:

The Coon Hollow Coven Tales series is about a coven of witches in a fictitious southern Indiana community, south of Bloomington, the neck of the woods where I spent my favorite childhood years surrounded by the love of a big family. The books are rich with a warm Hoosier down-home feel. There are interesting interactions between coven members and locals from the nearby small town of Bentbone. If magic wasn’t enough of a difference between the two groups, the coven folk adhere to the 1930s lifestyle that existed when the coven formed.

A note to readers: the books in the Coon Hollow Coven Tales series are written to be read in any order. The series is about one community, and its residents may pass in and out of various books, but each book has its own unique and special story to be told.

Coon Hollow Coven Tales include:
Blood Ice & Oak Moon (coming autumn 2016)

From
Witch's Cursed Cabin:

The pale gray of Logan’s double-breasted suit made his eyes gleam like a clear forest pool as he said, "Well, I wanted to check to see how you were doing, and I have a bit of coven business with Shireen."
"Doing fine, but I need a sec," I mumbled above the changing screen while stretching to grab my shirt.
"I didn't realize…" A rosy blush spread across his fair cheeks.
I yanked my jeans over my hips, shoved in the tails of my shirt, and stepped out in my sock feet.
Shireen’s cat appeared from under a clothes rack, ran between Logan's legs, and clung to my ankle, claws locked onto my jeans.
I yelped and shook my leg to get him off.
"What on earth?" Logan shouted and grabbed the cat, who spat and hissed at him while clinging tighter. Logan touched a crystal amulet hanging against his necktie, and his eyes shifted to midnight blue, his gaze lowered onto the cat.
It recoiled to the back of my leg and sunk magic-laced teeth into my calf, even through the denim.

Snippet Sunday: Witch's Cursed Cabin: A Coon Hollow Coven Tale #PNR #SnippetSunday #8Sunday

From
Witch's Cursed Cabin:
A Coon Hollow Coven Tale
Cerise dropped the sheets in a pile, wiped her dusty hands on her skirt, and said, “Those sorts of ghosts are in all the homes here in Coon Hollow Coven. Maybe some animal spirits, too, from the surrounding woods.”
Eyeing corners of the deserted home, the parlor and the length of the hall, I wondered if I could ever get used to living with ghosts of people who’d lived here before. In New Wish, Indiana, where I’d spent my entire twenty years, we only had an occasional ghost. Usually lost souls who ‘d been tormented by darkness and experimented with black magic while they’d lived. Or so Mom told me, but I always thought that was just her way of keeping my magic in line.
I pushed those thoughts out of my head. I wanted a place of my own more than anything else, and not in the tiny town of New Wish where everyone knew me…or thought they did. They all said I was the spitting image of my Aunt Faye, that I’d grow up to be like her with a houseful of kids, seven or more. Fact was, they didn’t know me, and I wasn’t sure I even knew myself.
