Learning the witchy ways of magic ~guest post by Juli D. Revezzo, author of Mourning Dove Locket, Antique Magic Book Four

As a fan of the Antique Magic series, I'm looking forward to finding out whether Caitlin has learned her magic well enough to save a teenage budding witch caught in a web of danger. It's great to have Juli D. Revezzo here today, talking about how Caitlin learned her witchy ways.

*~*~*

My Antique Magic series began three entries ago with the heroine dealing with the effects of a curse on her family. In the course if her battle, Caitlin began to realize her own legacy as a witch. Where most fantasy series starring older protagonists (my kind host's excluded) see the heroine already well-versed in magic, I decided to step away from that tradition and begin Caitlin's education after adulthood, when she’s married and making her own life, dealing with the pesky ghosts that creep in.

Time and previous books in the series have marched on for she and her husband Trevor, and they know much more about magic, the paranormal, and what's on the other side of the thin veil between our world and that of the supernatural.  But a witch would be remiss to believe there's nothing left in both worlds to learn. One can learn the usual ritual formats from any good book in the New Age section of the bookstore. Almost any non-fiction book by a modern Neo-pagan covers ritual forms.

But Caitlin, as ever, finds she learns more from doing rather than reading. Learning-on the-spot, you might say. She has her hands full in the latest book in the series, Mourning Dove Locket, as a teen girl needs more than just help with a pesky ghost; she too is a budding witch, with a little more experience with the spirit world, true, but far less with the magic that Caitlin sees her trying to access. She, a budding medium, can hear and speak to ghosts, but what to do with them? Ah, that’s a magic only few in Caitlin’s world know. So who better to guide her on her journey someone who knows which doors not to open in her modern Gothic world? Someone like Caitlin?

If you'd like to see how they do together, MOURNING DOVE LOCKET  here’s the blurb.

For antique shop owners Caitlin and Trevor Fulmer, the intrusion of gods and ghosts is an unfortunate daily occurrence. After a young girl offers Caitlin a gold locket, however, she can’t help but notice it’s oozing with paranormal energy.

More significantly, the locket’s owner is surrounded by Otherworld spirits. Caitlin recognizes in the girl all the signs of a budding witch in the midst of a dangerous crisis.

Can she and her covenmates protect the girl and assist her in embracing her powers, before those beyond the veil extract their revenge?
