FREE! That word caught my attention.
I was expecting the typical self-serve container of
zucchinis or tomatoes that normally overrun gardens at the end of the season. I
would have gladly stopped even for those vegetables.
But I was even more intrigued to find the autumn harvest
magic captured in these lovely Queen Anne’s lace.
I’ve long known that once dried, solar powers are
concentrated within the whorled heads of those delicate wildflowers. You must
be quick though since once the umbrels curl, their magic serves to keep insects
safe that make winter homes inside those tiny nests. It had been ages since I’d
stopped to twirl one of those wands around me and feel its magic, so soft and
happy like a hug.
After much consideration, I carefully removed one, saving
the rest for others to enjoy as the giver intended. To whoever was thoughtful
enough to leave this wonderful freebie…a thousand thank yous and an extra big
hug.
